Maggie Spivey-Faulkner is an anthropological archaeologist who currently chairs Social Sciences at Outer Coast, an experimental postsecondary institution in Sitka, Alaska. She was previously an Assistant Professor at the University of Alberta, a junior fellow at the Harvard Society of Fellows, and a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow. Her work focuses on peoples who hunt, gather, and fish in the southeastern United States, looking specifically at examples of peoples who defy popular characterizations of hunter-gatherer societal complexity.
